About

Hi, I’m Lana.

It’s really Alana but I’ve always preferred the shortened version. I’m a forty-something-year-old that’s Starting Over Strong.

This blog was started for two reasons – encompassing all the things I love that have nothing to do with work and as a way to heal while navigating this new world as a divorcee.

I cringe at the thought of the word, but it’s a part of my reality now. It doesn’t define who I am, but I am finding it easier to process certain things when I call them out for what they are.

Starting over at any age can be intimidating and overwhelming. But starting over after a divorce adds another layer of complexity to the situation. Suddenly, everything you thought was certain and stable is no longer there. The future that you envisioned for yourself has drastically changed.

But amidst all the chaos and uncertainty, I have found solace in writing. It’s my way of processing my thoughts and emotions, of releasing them into the world so they don’t weigh me down. Through this blog, I hope to connect with others who may be going through a similar experience.

Divorce is not easy, but it doesn’t have to define us or consume our lives. We can choose to start over strong and rebuild ourselves piece by piece. There will be setbacks and challenges, but we can emerge from this experience stronger and better.

This blog is a safe space for me to share my journey, my struggles, and my triumphs. It’s also a place for others to hopefully find support and inspiration. Together, we can find the strength to move forward and create a new path for ourselves.

So if you’re reading this, know that you are not alone. We may be strangers, but we are connected by our experiences. Let’s continue writing our stories, one word at a time, as we rebuild our lives amid adversity.
